Take Control: Retrain Your Brain and Ignite Your Vision

Every day presents an opportunity for transformation, a chance to explore new perspectives and embrace profound change. Navigating these changes effectively depends on our ability to adapt, maintaining a clear focus while confronting the unknown. So, let’s talk about your goals and the science behind achieving them.

The Neuroscience Behind Goal Setting

In the realm of neuroscience, setting a goal and achieving it are two separate processes, each involving different parts of the brain. When you set a goal, you’re using the explicit part of your brain — the declarative. However, achieving that goal necessitates behavior change, which is governed by a different region of the brain.

If you’ve ever found yourself stuck in a rut, despite your best intentions to change, this is why. Your brain is pattern-oriented, and it will keep you in your comfort zone unless you consciously work to rewire your thought processes. But don’t worry, there’s hope — we can indeed retrain the brain. Here are five techniques to start reprogramming your brain today.

Technique 1: Visualize Your Ideal Life

Begin by conjuring up the clearest, most vibrant image of your dream life. You’re healthy, energetic, fulfilled, living in harmony with your deepest desires and purpose, and positively impacting those around you. Ask yourself, “What does this look like? How does it feel? Who am I sharing this life with? Where am I?”

Write about this life in as much detail as possible, as if you’re already there. This exercise helps your brain to recognize this state as attainable, rewiring its pattern of thought.

Technique 2: Write a Future Reflection

Imagine that it’s a year from today, and you’re looking back at all your amazing accomplishments. Write yourself a letter describing all your successful outcomes and the things you’re grateful for. This could be anything from a new job, a published book, improved health, or even a lifestyle change. Be specific with your descriptions, and remember, the power of emotion is what truly fuels manifestation.

Next, think about the actions you took to bring about these outcomes and mark these steps in your calendar as if they’ve already taken place. Storing this letter away for future reference serves as a powerful reminder of your goals and how to achieve them.

Technique 3: Craft Your Vision Board

A vision board acts as a daily visual reminder of your dreams and intentions, providing the extra push needed for your brain to embrace change. Gathering images that symbolize your desired life can add intensity to your vision. Waking up every day to see these visuals reinforces your brain’s understanding of what is possible.

Technique 4: Prioritize Self Care

Commit to taking care of your mind, body, and spirit. This could be through meditation, yoga, prayer, or any form of exercise that you enjoy. Raising your own bar with conscious nutrition is equally important. An alkaline diet with local, organic produce not only benefits your health but also the community.

Technique 5: Surround Yourself with Positivity

If you want to be happy, be with people who share your dreams and inspire you. We are all capable of allowing a grand vision for ourselves and the world to come forward. Sometimes, all it takes is to ask, listen, and receive.

The time is always now to rewrite your story and ignite your vision. Happy manifesting!
